Rabbit Moon by Jennifer Haigh is a gripping family drama set in modern-day Shanghai, where love, loss, and long-buried secrets collide.

Four years after a painful divorce, Claire and Aaron Litvak receive a devastating call: their daughter Lindsey, living in China during a college gap year, has been critically injured in a hit-and-run. Rushed to a Shanghai hospital, the once-married couple is forced back into each other’s lives, waiting at Lindsey’s bedside and confronting the unresolved pain of their past.

But this tragic accident reveals something deeper—fractures that began long before the crash. Lindsey had been hiding more than just resentment. Estranged from her parents, she had formed a closer bond with her younger sister Grace, adopted from China as a baby. As the Litvaks navigate the unfamiliar, fast-changing city of Shanghai, they uncover startling truths about Lindsey’s life abroad—and about themselves.

Tense, emotional, and beautifully written, Rabbit Moon explores the complexities of parenting, identity, and the quiet wounds families carry.
